Stanza and Verse:
"Ithaka" is a free verse poem of five stanzas that employs conversational, everyday language. It does not use consistent meter patterns, rhyme, or any other musical pattern. The verses range from four to fifteen syllables, and stanzas ranging from three to thirteen verses. As a result of using the free verse format, Kavafy is able to express his ideas, without restrictions of a specific meter or rhyme. He uses a direct writing approach with complete sentences to elude his ensurance into the reader's.
